If you believe hearing aids should be covered by medical insurance, then Jeanine Byrnes, Deaf/HH Community Liaison, wants to hear from you!

Jeanine needs your input to present to the Legislature.  If you or anyone you know uses hearing aids, please fill out this survey and return it to Jeanine's attention (address is provided on the survey form).  If you are unable to print out the survey, please contact Jeanine and she will send you a copy.

All information is confidential.

KINGSTON AND BENEDICTINE HOSPITALS

TO PROVIDE INTERPRETERS

Jeanine Byrnes, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community Liaison, met with staff at both Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals.

The hospitals have a new

Language Assistance Program Coordinator, who has been working with Jeanine to educate staff on how to get sign language interpreters.

If you go to either hospital, make sure to let them know you need and interpreter.

If an interpreter is not provided, please contact Jeanine to let her know.

If YOU ARE A TOWN OF POUGKEEPSIE RESIDENT, JEANINE NEEDS YOUR INPUT

Jeanine Byrnes, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community Liaison, is working with Town of Poughkeepsie representatives to make Town Board meetings accessible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. Accommodations under consideration include closed captioning for televised meetings and live interpreters for those attending meetings.
